Importing Orders

The app picks up new orders on its own, but some orders won't be in it:

  • Orders placed before you installed the app.
  • Orders placed before you configured or enabled the product. The app only records orders for products that were enabled when the order was paid.
  • An order the app missed, for example because Shopify was briefly unavailable.

Use Manual Import on the Orders page to bring any of these in, one order at a time. Enter the order's name, such as #1001, or its ID, the number at the end of the order's address in your Shopify admin. The app fetches the order from Shopify and opens it once it's imported.

What gets imported

Only line items for products that are configured and enabled in the app are imported, the same as for a new order. An order made up entirely of other products can't be imported.

If the order is already in the app, the import tells you so. To refresh an order that's already in the app, sync it with Shopify instead.

License keys on imported orders

What happens to keys depends on when the order was placed:

The order was placedKeys
After you installed the appAssigned from the product's pool, one per unit, just like a new order.
Before you installed the appNone are assigned. Edit the order to add them yourself.

Older orders get no keys automatically because the app can't know whether the customer already received keys some other way. See Orders From Before the App Was Installed for how these orders are handled from then on.

Importing many orders at once

For orders placed after you installed the app, you can bring in a whole date range instead. Syncing manually creates any orders in the range that the app is missing.

Syncing doesn't import orders from before you installed the app. Import those one at a time.
