Key Reveal Settings
Revealing a key is the moment your customer receives it. These three settings shape that moment, for every Download & License product.
Keys Stay Revealed
Default: On
Once a customer has revealed their keys, the keys are shown straight away on every later visit, with no need to reveal them again.
With it off, keys are hidden each time the customer comes back, and they reveal them again.
Each time keys are shown, including automatically, the reveal is recorded in the key's reveal log. Expect several entries for a customer who comes back to their order.
Reveal Key Prevention
Default: OffSupports Dynamic Text
A message the customer has to read before revealing their keys. Use it for anything they should know first, such as:
- "Once revealed, keys can't be returned or refunded."
- "Make sure you're installing on the computer you want to activate."
When the customer selects the reveal button, the message appears with a Continue to Reveal License Key button. Their keys appear only once they continue. Show the message as a Banner under the buttons, or in a Modal dialog.
Non-Refundable Message
Default: OffSupports Dynamic Text
A banner shown on a product once the customer has revealed its keys. Use it to remind them the keys have been delivered, for example: "Your keys have been revealed, so this order can no longer be refunded."
It appears from the customer's next visit after their first reveal, and the customer can dismiss it.
Reveal Key Prevention and the Non-Refundable Message work well together: one warns before the reveal, and the other is a record afterwards. With the reveal log, they help you show that a customer received their key if they dispute the charge.
